U- 571

U- 571

The U- 571 movie starts with a brief description of the effort to prevent the ships of allied forces from being sunk by U- Boats. Then a British ship appears on the scene. The sinking of this British ship, which has the feature of a cargo ship, using a torpedo is reflected on the screen. The sinking process is U- 571.

Later in the movie, a propeller sound approaching at high speed is heard. Noticing the sound, the captain turns his periscope into the sound he hears. He sees the destroyer approaching them. Destroyer sends underwater bombs causing damage to the submarine named U- 571. Due to the damage, U-571 is forced to go over the water again.

Diesel engines of the submarine, whose batteries are exhausted, will also become unusable. Also, the crew serving under the sea for the engines to work loses their lives. After all these events, the captain orders his radio to ask. The radio should deliver the sauce (help) to Berlin.

In summary, the film tells about the capture of the World War 2 German submarine in 1942 by people who searched for the Enigma machine. American Navy officers who are chasing the machine will have a submarine in disguise.

Movie Editing

The film, shot near Rome and Malta in the Mediterranean, was partly influenced by a true-life story. It also has various fictional elements. There are two differences between the real story and the movie script. The first of these differences is the British crew of the HMS Bulldog, who first took over the Enigma machine. This machine was removed from the German-made U- 110 submarine in the North Atlantic. The extraction took place in May 1941. The second difference between fiction and the real story is that U- 571 could not be captured. It was sunk off the Irish coast in January 1944. The sinking process was carried out by the Royal Australian Air Force.
